5 More Ways You Can Stay Sharp at Work
With all the things going on in our daily lives, stress and fatigue can get the best of us. We may then find focusing on our jobs more and more difficult. But don’t worry, I’ve got a few tips to help you get re-energized and stay sharp at work.
Drink coffee or Energy drinks A good dose of coffee or an energy drink can help boost both your mind and body. This can help you get through days when you just need to catch up with deadlines or work long hours. It can also be very helpful in boring meetings which you’re required to attend or for days when you lack a few hours of sleep. Don’t drink too much now, as too much of a good thing may have the opposite effect!
Think positive If a mantra to tell yourself over and over again all throughout the day works for you, then by all means, indulge. You may find you just need to start your day with a smile and forget about yesterday’s irks. Don’t pile up grudges and complaints about your job. Letting go can make you feel lighter and ready to take on new challenges and improve on your work performance.
Take a vacation Everybody needs some time off, so go ahead and schedule some much-needed time off. Take a 3-day vacation off the coast or reconnect with your old time friends. Go on an adventure, travel and eat your heart out. Taking a part of your salary to spend for a little leisure can help you appreciate your work (and yourself) better. Be good to yourself!
Read A good way to exercise your brain and to stay sharp is to read. Grab a newspaper or a magazine. Go online on your free time and read articles of interest. Better yet read articles and newsletters about your company so you can stay informed about everything that’s going on and pick up some tips to better position yourself for growth within the company.
Give yourself a pat on the back I know it sounds silly but you deserve a pat in the back for every hard day’s work. Sometimes it’s hard to find encouraging words from your boss and compliments may seem scarce. But if you know you did well at your job then give yourself that much deserved credit. This will help you love your job more and even perform better. Here’s one for you!
There are a lot of ways for you to always stay sharp at work and perform at your best, regardless of your age or where you are in your career. Try out these tips I’ve mentioned or look up the previous article where I discussed a few more. Then surely you’ll be as sharp as every young professional out there!
