What I tell all of my clients who order just a resume…

If you haven’t already ordered a cover letter- I do highly recommend them- and that is not just an up-sell tactic. So many employers today check out cover letters to see how you establish and distinguish yourself as a professional.

And yes- cover letters can overall be generic but need to be easily changed and tweaked a bit to fit each company you apply to. This is yet another show of how professional and serious you are. Bring out the points the company is looking for in a candidate in the cover letter, and be sure that stands out among all the other fluff and stuff in your cover letter. That might very well get your resume to the interview pile a lot quicker!
